Ignored by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for India’s 15-man World Cup squad, Ambati Rayadu announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.
The shocking news came from the sports corner as senior cricketer Ambati Rayudu announced his retirement from all forms of cricket after being overlooked twice by the selection committee for the World Cup.
Rayadu has informed BCCI about his decision. Though he has not officially stated any reason for his retirement, one can easily understand that the complete ignorance by the cricket board is the reason behind it.
Rayadu was first ignored when the selectors named Vijay Shankar in place of him in 15 member squad for WC 2019. He wasn’t even considered for a place in the World Cup squad when Shikhar Dhawan and Shankar were ruled out of with injuries.
Selectors went for Rishabh Pant and Mayank Agarwal as the respective replacements. Inclusion of Mayank Agarwal was a big shocker as he wasn’t even in the reserve players.
Rayadu’s exclusion from a 15 member squad for WC was a big shocker for fans as he cemented his place for crucial No. 4 position in the team for the last 18 months.
When the World Cup squad was announced, Rayudu made headlines for his cryptic tweet about Vijay Shankar being picked in place of him. The Chairman of selectors MSK Prasad said that Shankar has been picked for his three-dimensional abilities. In response to it, Rayadu tweeted:
Just Ordered a new set of 3d glasses to watch the world cup 😉😋..
