The first edition of the WPL begins on 4th March 2023, and the first match held between Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians. Gujarat Giants is one of the teams that played the inaugural match of the Women’s Premier League. The team is based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat and is owned by the Adani Group.
This is the first time a women’s cricket competition similar to the Indian Premier League (IPL) is being conducted in India. The Women’s Premier League’s debut season is being held in Mumbai between March 4 and March 26.
