As the Indian cricket team is on its Bangladesh tour, it is currently playing the two-match test series after playing the three-match ODI series, which was won by the host country by 2-1.
It wasn’t a good start for India, as it lost the first 2 matches of the ODI with Bangladesh, and during the second ODI, its star batsman Rohit Sharma suffered a left thumb injury due to which he couldn’t participate in the rest of the matches.
However, after two back-to-back defeats, India won the third ODI and the first test match of the two-match test series by huge margins. The team is now all geared up to play the last and second test match with the host country.
India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test Match Date & Venue
The second match between India and Bangladesh will be played from December 22 to December 26 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. While Team India will be looking to add another ODI series win to its record, Team Bangladesh will be looking to tie the test series at 1-1.
India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test Match Pitch Report
There are only a few hours left for the 2nd and last test match between India and Bangladesh, which will start on December 22 at the Shere Bangla Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. The match will begin at 9:00 a.m., as per Indian Standard Time.
The pitch at Shere Bangla Stadium will be totally in bowlers’ favor, and for batters, it will not be a pleasant side like it was in Chattogram, where the 1st test match was held and India made 513 runs and ended up winning it by a huge margin of 188 runs.
As the match will start at 9:00 a.m., the wetness on the ground will benefit pacers in the morning session. The pitch definitely slows down in the middle overs, which will start benefiting spinners. So it is quite evident that batters will have a tough time here.
The Shere Bangla Stadium or Mirpur Stadium holds a seating capacity of approximately 25,000 people. The first international match at the stadium was held in December 2006, and since then it has hosted matches for big tournaments like the 2011 World Cup as well as the 2012, 2014, and 2016 Asia Cup matches, along with the majority of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) matches.
