About Neeraj Chopra

Neeraj Chopra became an overnight sensation when he won the first gold medal for India in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Chopra was born on December 24, 1997, in a Haryanvi family in Khandra Panipat, Haryana.
He had been quite active in sports since childhood, but he was an obese child. To reduce his weight, he joined the sports academy. While playing at Shivaji Stadium in Panipat, he saw some javelin throwers and began participating himself.
