Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli was recently charged with assault and abuse against his wife. Kambli’s wife has filed a police complaint against him for allegedly assaulting and abusing her.
The police have filed a complaint against Kambli under IPC Sections 324 (voluntarily causing harm with dangerous weapons) and 504 (insult). This incident happened while Kambli came home drunk, and he threw a cooking pan on her head, resulting in an injury to her head.

The life of Vinod Kambli is filled with controversies, one of them being allegations of Match Fixing World Cup 1996. Vinod Kambli revealed that the main reason for the unexpected defeat in the World Cup semi-final match against Sri Lanka in 1996 was match-fixing.
Kambli claimed that the team’s then Captain Mohammad Azharuddin and other Batsmen of the team fixed the match including the manager of the team.
Kambli Arrested for Drunk Driving
Vinod kumbli was arrested by Bandra Police for drunk driving and ramming into another car. A case was filed against Kambli at Bandra police station under sections 279 (recklessly driving), 336 (endangering the life and safety of other persons) and 427 (acting to cause harm) of the Indian Penal Code.

In the year 2015, Vinod Kambli’s maid accused him and his wife Andrea of locking her in a room for 3 days straight. The maid revealed that when asked for her money, Vinod Kambli and his wife assaulted her and for this Vinod Kambli also went to jail. But later the case was dismissed with the allegation of the maid that she used to take drugs.
Kambli abused Navjot Singh Siddhu and Ramiz Raja
Vinod Kambli also abused Former cricketers Ramiz Raja and Navjot Singh Siddhu. Vinod Kambli abused Congress leader Navjot Singh Siddhu and current PCB chairman Ramiz Raja on twitter. Later he apologized and said his friend made the tweet from his account.
Kambli accused Sachin Tendulkar
In 2009 Kambli appeared in a reality show ‘Sach Ka Saamna,’ where he said that he faced discrimination in the team. Kambli claimed that Sachin did not help him during his rough phase and Sachin invited everyone to his retirement Farewell Party in the year 2013 but Kambli was not a part of that party.
Last year Kambli revealed that he is looking for Cricket related assignments and he is going through a financial crunch. The 50-year-old Kambi revealed that his only source of income is the pension that he receives from BCCI after retirement.

Vinod Kambli played his last international match in the year 2000, but he announced his retirement in 2011 and he has also been a coaching staff of a team for 2019 T20 Mumbai League.
Kanbli was appointed as a mentor for young cricketers at the Tendulkar Middlesex Global Academy in Nerul but Kambli revealed it was too far from his house and half of the time went traveling.
After COVID Kambli is not getting any Cricket assignments and he and his family have to sustain on the Rupees 30,000 pension from the BCCI. Kambli said “After retirement, there is no cricket for you. But if you want to stay steady in life, it is important to have assignments. He added that he is looking for an MCA and all he can do is request the MCA president or the secretary for an assignment.”
