The stage is set for the first-ever edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) as five teams will now compete to become the champion. After the riveting auctions, teams are finally all geared up for the inaugural season of the WPL.
The action now moves to the on-field battle as the five teams hunt for a shot at glory. But before the first match between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants, the WPL is set to have a grand opening ceremony.
WPL 2023 Opening Ceremony Date, Venue & Time
BCCI is planning to start the historic first season of WPL in a grand way. Top celebrities are set to grace the opening ceremony at the DY Patil Stadium on March 4 ahead of the first match between MI and GG at the same venue. The opening ceremony will start at 5:30 PM onwards, while the gates will open at 4:00 PM.

BCCI has planned a WPL anthem which will be sung by renowned singer and music composer Shankar Mahadevan, at the opening ceremony.
The star performers will be Bollywood actress Kiara Advani, who recently got married to her long time boyfriend and Shershaah co-star Sidharth Malhotra.
The other big names who will be performing at the occasion are singer AP Dhillon and actress Kriti Sanon.
Kiara and Kriti will be dazzling fans across the globe by dancing to some peppy Bollywood numbers.
