- The SSC MTS Paper 1 exam consists of 90 objective questions (multiple choice questions) with 270 marks.
- For each correct answer, candidates will get three marks.
- Note that there is no negative marking in SSC MTS session 1, but in session 2, there will be a negative marking of 1 mark.
- Altogether, there are four sections in SSC MTS Paper 1: numerical and mathematical ability; reasoning ability and problem solving; general awareness; and English language and comprehension. Each section consists of 20 to 25 questions.
- The exam duration is 90 minutes, and the time given to VH and CP candidates is 120 minutes.

Candidates who will appear for the SSC MTS Havaldar post in CBIC and CBN have to appear for the PET and PST exams, which are qualifying in nature.
For the SSC MTS Havaldar post, the required height for male candidates is 157.5 cm, and for female candidates, it is 152 cm.
