Meta Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mark Zuckerberg announced new privacy features for Whatsapp, which will allow users to leave any group secretly and their online presence will only be visible to people of their choice.
New Privacy features of Whatsapp?
There are numerous new privacy features coming to WhatsApp according to Meta founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerbergexit. The new Privacy feature will include leaving group chats without notifying any other member of the group except the group Admin.
Now the Watsapp users will be able to control who can see when they are online, and another big update is now the users will have the liberty to block taking screenshots for ‘View Once Messages’.
View once is already a popular way to share photos and data that does not need to have a permanent digital record and if this feature is enabled it will add a layer of Privacy and Protection.
When will these features start rolling out?
The leave group silently feature and control who can see you online feature will be rolling out to all the users of whatsapp, whether they use iOS or Android from this month itself and the blocking screenshot feature is being tested and will roll out to the users super soon, said Meta Founder.
Campaigns to educate people
Meta will be launching campaigns to educate people about the new privacy features of Whatsapp so that the users can feel secure about the data and the aim of this campaign will be reaching out to more and more people and educating them regarding the new features.
The campaign will start from India and the United Kingdom as they have a maximum number of Whatsapp users.
These new features seem like they will be providing better security and a sense of privacy to the users of Whatsapp.
