The ‘Favorite Bahu’ of Indian television soaps, Shweta Tiwari recently opened up about her ‘poisonous’ marriage with second husband, Abhinav Kohli.
The actress termed the relationships as a ‘poisonous infection’ which she had to ‘root out of her life’. The actress and her daughter were in the news a few months ago for filing a divorce case against Abhinav Kohli who was accused of domestic violence.
Ex Bigg Boss winner and Tv show starlet Shweta Tiwari is a household name even today. She rose to fame with her role as ‘Prerna’ in Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’. She was then married to boyfriend Raja Chaudhary.
The two happily participated in dance reality TV show ‘Nach Baliye’ but things went downhill post that. Apparently, Raja resorted to alcoholism and his violent behaviour was too much for Shweta to tolerate. They separated in 2007 with daughter moving-in with mom, Shweta.
She again found love in Tv star Abhinav Kohli who happily married her in 2013. They also have son a son, Reyansh Kohli who was born in 2016.
Abhinav has been a part of TV shows like ‘Ssshh..Koi Hai’,’Mano Ya Na Mano’ and’Sarwgunn Sampanna’. The two were quite happy but things got vulgar when Shweta and daughter Palak filed a case of molestation against him. Abhinav alleged passed leud comments on Palak and even showed her vulgar photos.
Shweta has since filed for divorce and wishes to no longer be a part of the ‘poisonous’ marriage. Shweta claims to have dealt with her marriage like an infection that was hurting her badly.
She said she had to remove it to ensure a safe and protected future for her children. She said if one thing didn’t turn out well, she wouldn’t stop leading her life, or paying bills, school fees, house, electricity bills or provide for her children. She has an optimistic attitude towards whatever life throws at her because there is no way she would give up on her children because her second marriage didn’t work.
According to Shweta, she is better off alone than cheating on her husband by having an affair outside of marriage. She takes immense pride in being able to face her fears with courage. She says she is happy to have talked about her trauma in public.
Shweta is all set to make a comeback on television with a new show named ‘Mere Dad Ki Dulhan’ with Varun Badola on Sony Entertainment Television.
The show premiered on 11 November 2019. The plot involves the twisted love story of two single parents (Shweta and Varun) who fall in love with each other, thanks to Varun’s daughter who brought them closer.
