The most awaited ICC World Cup 2023 tournament is all set to start from October 5. All the participating teams have reached India and have received a grand welcome from the Host country India.
This is the first time India is hosting the ICC World Cup 2023 on its own. The first match of the tournament will be played between England and New Zealand in Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
World Cup 2023 Opening Ceremony Date, & Time
Before the start of the ICC World Cup 2023, an opening ceremony is held. But as per reports BCCI has cancelled the opening ceremony of the tournament, although no official statement has been released by BCCI till now.
If reports are to be believed, the opening ceremony of the tournament was supposed to be held on October 4. Several Bollywood celebrities, such as actors Ranveer Singh and Tamannaah Bhatia, and singers Arijit Singh, Shreya Ghoshal, and Asha Bhosle, were expected to be performing at the event.
Moreover, BCCI will be organizing a closing ceremony on the day of the final, November 19, in Ahmedabad. The concrete reason for not conducting an opening ceremony is still not known.
ICC World Cup 2023 Captain’s Meet
There’s no official update regarding why the opening ceremony is not being held, but the captain’s meeting is still on. After the Captains meet a laser show will be organized for the entertainment of the sports enthusiasts.
The captains of all ten teams have reached Ahmedabad for the event. Among all this, the fans are desperate to watch the India vs. Pakistan match, which will be played in Ahmedabad on October 14.
