The fact is proof that there are 4 south Indian movies that are in the top 10 highest grosser Indian movies worldwide list,  while the top position fetched by the Telugu magnum opus Baahubali 2, which had raked in a whopping Rs 1429 Cr at the Indian BO and Rs 1810 Cr WW.

With this, Baahubali 2 became the highest grosser film in India, the recent release pan India film RRR grosses Rs 1150 crores worldwide (50 days) & around Rs 920 crores domestically (48 days) of its theatrical run, the film is currently the fourth highest-grossing Indian film.

Another film that shook the box office India is the Yash starrer K.G.F Chapter 2, the film collected Rs 165 Cr worldwide on the first day, the Hindi version of the film raked in Rs 53.95 Cr and became the highest opening grosser in Hindi, leaving behind Bollywood Biggies like War starring Hrithik Roshan, Aamir’s Thugs of Hindostan, Bharat starring SalmanKhan, etc.

KGF2, successfully crossing the Rs 1000 Cr mark in 18 days became the 4th Indian film to do so. As per the recent reports, surpassing the India collection of RRR the film became the second-highest grosser Indian film too. As per the recent reports, the film has crossed the Rs 1000 Cr mark in India, it became the second film to cross the mark after Baahubali 2.

The above data of both the regional films shows that south Indian cinema is widening its reach in India and worldwide as well.
