The Indian Premier League 2024 auction is finally over, and this year, the fans saw some of the craziest bids. IPL 2024 was held on December 19 at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai.
Among all the players, the highest bid went to Australian player Mitchell Starc. He was sold to the Kolkata Knight Riders for the upcoming IPL in 2024. Apart from Starc, Australian captain Pat Cummins became the second most expensive player as he was sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The bid for Cummins crossed the Rs. 10 crore mark in no time. Earlier, it was said that Cummins was the most expensive player of the season, but bids for Mitchell Starc broke records for the most expensive player.

IPL 2024 Most Expensive Players
Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders made some of the most expensive bids this year. KKR bought Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc for a whopping Rs. 24.75 crore and shattered all the records of all seasons.
Pat Cummins became the second-most expensive player as he was bought by Surisers Hyderabad for Rs. 20.5 crore. Before the bid of Mitchell Starc, it was Cummins who broke the record of Sam Curran, who was the most expensive player in the IPL.
This season, the Chennai Super Kings made some very smart bids, and one of them was by New Zealander Rachin Ravindra for Rs. 1.8 crore. Ravindra showed exceptional performance in the ICC World Cup 2023, and he emerged as one of the best players of the season.
Also, it won’t be wrong if we say this IPL 2024 auction was for Australia and New Zealand. Another great pick by the Chennai Super Kings was Daryl Mitchell for 14 crore. Apart from that, Shardul Thakur returns to the Chennai Super Kings for 4 crores.
Punjab Kings made their highest bid for Harshal Patel for Rs. 11.75 crore. On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore bought West Indies player Alzarri Joseph for Rs. 11.50 crore.
Rajasthan Royals has bought Rovamn Powell for Rs. 7.40 crore, followed by Harry Brook for Rs. 4 crore to the Delhi Capitals and Travis Head for Rs. 6.80 crore to Sunrisers Hyderabad. Also this year, there will be several changes in the teams, and the biggest change will be in the Mumbai Indians.
