Chiranjeevi-Ram Charan starrer action flick Acharya continues to see a drop in the footfalls at the ticket counters on the last day of opening weekend.
The opening weekend report is not in the favor of the film, it is said to be a huge disaster in the recent times in the Telugu film industry, as per the reports the film is in the loss of around Rs 80 Crs, and the distributors are now demanding the compensation of Rs 50 crores from the makers given the low box office collections.
Even the Tamil film Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal has enjoyed a good opening weekend than Acharya, the latter enjoys two superstars of Tollywood cinema with the top director.
Box Office Collection Day 3
After a Rs 40 Cr gross opening from the home market, the film saw a major dip in Saturday collections, it had earned only Rs 5.15 Cr shares (Rs 8 Cr gross), and now as per the latest reports, the film saw a major drop in its collections on Sunday at the box office by minting in the Rs 4 Cr shares (Rs 7 Cr gross) from AP/TG.
Now the opening weekend collection of the film stands around Rs 55 crore gross, it also performed poorly in the overseas market churning out only Rs 4.35 Cr gross, the worldwide 3 days collections of the film stands Rs 70.65 Cr gross.
Break-Even
The film is still far behind the break-even mark of Rs 132.50 Cr, it still needs Rs 86.98 Cr, and considering the performance of the film’s box office run, it is now on the verge of being pulled from theatres in the first week itself.
It seems the makers will have to face a major loss on the action flick, even the star father-son duo’s presence didn’t pull the audience into the cinemas. It also makes clear that without content, no trick will going to make any film a profitable venture.
