The makers of the 2018 blockbuster film Badhaai Ho reunite with a rousing story on big screens during Valentine’s Week 2022. The film is titled Badhaai Do, directed by Harshvardhan Kulkarni and financed by Vineet Jain under the banner Junglee Pictures.
Badhaai Do is another LGBT+ story with desi humor and drama, while the earlier film dealt with the middle-aged couple where the wife gets pregnant, Ayushmann Khurrana played the role of eldest son feel embarrassed as his parents making babies at this age, the sequel Badhaai Do storyline revolves around a couple in a lavender marriage.
Here, Rajkummar Rao is gay and Bhumi Pednekar is also interested in same-sex but they got married for society’s discrimination.
Star Cast of Badhaai Do
- National Film Awardee Rajkummar Rao is essaying a cop role as Shardul Thakur, also a gay who marries a lesbian Suman Singh aka Sumi, a PT teacher (portrayed by Dum Laga Ke Haisha and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha fame Bhumi Pednekar)
- Seema Pahwa in the role of Sumi’s mom, Mrs. Singh
- Sheeba Chaddha as Shardul’s mom, Mrs. Thakur
- Chum Darang essaying Bhumi’s on-screen girlfriend as Chenakki,
- Other actors Loveleen Mishra, Nitesh Pandey, Shashi Bhushan, Deepak Arora, and Hani Yadav (Kartikey) will be seen portraying pivotal roles.

The music is also being liked by the viewers especially the soulful track ‘Atak Gaya’ which is composed by Amit Trivedi and sung by Arijit Singh & Rupali Moghe, lyrics penned by Varun Grover.

Over The Top (OTT) Release Date?
Badhaai Do hits the cinemas on 11 Feb 2022 (Friday). Talking about the digital debut of the film, one of the leading streaming platforms Netflix bags it, and now the film is available here just after a month of theatrical release.

Earlier it was being said that Badhaai Do will have its digital debut on homegrown digital platform Zee5 because Zee Studios are the distributors of Badhaai Do which is a subsidiary of Zee Entertainment enterprises.
Therefore the chances of acquiring the digital rights of the film were more of a ZEE5 than any other digital platform. Anyway.

Makers on 25 Jan unveiled the Official trailer of Badhaai Do on SM platforms, the trailer is attracting a lot of eyeballs, as it has been viewed over 2.2 crores times on Youtube with 2.7 lakh likes (as of Feb 8).

Badhaai Do is directed by Harshvardhan Kulkarni, he also co-wrote the film along with Suman Adhikary and Akshat Ghildial. The technical team Swapnil Sonawane lensed the camera and Kirti Nakhwa is the editor.
