Produced by popular Indian filmmaker Dinesh Vijan under the Maddock Films banner, Bhediya is a highly-anticipated horror comedy film. It is helmed by Amar Kaushik, known for directing critically acclaimed films like Stree and Bala.
Bhediya is the third instalment of Dinesh Vijan’s horror comedy Universe after the Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao starrer Stree (2018) and the 2021 film Roohi, starring Rao and Janhvi Kapoor.
About the Film
The film features Varun Dhawan in the lead role as Bhaskar Upadhyay/Bhediya, whereas Kriti Sanon is the leading lady, playing as doctor Anika Sharma. It also stars Deepak Dobriyal and Abhishek Banerjee, with the latter reprising his character “Jaana” from Stree in the upcoming film.
The shooting of the film is done in the deep forests of the Ziro and Sagalee towns as well as some parts of the Pakke-Kessang district of Arunachal Pradesh, over a span of two months from March to April 2021.
Bhediya First Look
The film is scheduled to be released theatrically on November 25, 2022, in Hindi along with the dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions. It will be available in 2D and 3D. The film has been creating a lot of buzz since the makers dropped its first look poster.
The poster features both Kriti and Varun in never-seen-before roles and in different avatars. In features Varun as a dangerlus warewolf whereas Kriti as Dr. Anika Sharma can be seen sporting a short hair look and posing with a huge syringe in her hand.
Bhediya Trailer Out
The trailer of Bhediya is out now and it has given us goosebumps and has shivered down everyone’s body with a dose of horror. The trailer teases us with a never-seen-before concept, promising some really spine-chilling horror scenes, suspense and comedy that will keep you hooked to your seats.
The film shows Varun Dhawan turning into a werewolf after a wolf bites him in an intense forest. Varun somehow managed to escape and save his life, but the problems don’t end here, or we say the problems started here, as Varun develops the characteristics of a wolf and does the things a wolf does.
Kriti as Dr. Anika is here to help him get out of trouble. It seems there is a reason behind him getting bitten by Wolf, as we can hear Kriti’s character saying that what you’re calling trouble is actually a great responsibility.
Overall, the film seems like a complete family entertainer with spectacular VFX by top Hollywood Studio-Moving Pictures Company (MPC), which is a multiple award-winning Hollywood Studio that has also done the VFX for several Hollywood biggies like Top Gun, Maverick, The Jungle Book, The Lion King, and Godzilla Vs. Kong, among others.
