Mollywood crime drama film Bheeshma Parvam was released on Thursday (3 March), Mammootty starrer had already made much hype among the cinephiles through its trailer.
Bheeshma Parvam revolves around Michael Anjoottikkaran an ex-mafia kingpin who now is a marine exporter everything goes fine until the story veered off with the protagonist getting death threats to his family.
Screen Count
The national film awardee starrer was released on 406 screens with around 1800 shows in the home market Kerala, and as per the pre-sales, the film fetched amazing responses from Malayalam movie lovers.
The film had grossed Rs 2.35 crores from 1060 shows with 52.20% occupancy in pre-sales booking which is bigger than recent releases Marakkar (Rs 1.98 cr) from 1291 shows, Kurup (Rs 1.78 Cr) from 1123 shows, and Aaraattu- 1 cr from similar shows.
Full Occupancy in theatres…
The positive news for the Padma Shree awardee starrer, in Kerala, is running in full occupancy, and it is one of the first films which released in 100% occupancy since 2020.
Clash
The only negative point was Bheeshma Parvam locked horns with Tovino Thomas starrer Naaradan, which also made quite a buzz among the viewers. Hence it halted the film’s business to some extent.
However, considering the pre-sales booking and the screen counts which Mamootty starrer has fetched, there was a buzz among the fans and
theatergoers for the film, thereby it pulled the crowd in good numbers at the ticket windows on an opening day.
Day 1 Box Office Collection
Bheeshma Parvam minted Rs 6 to 6.25 Cr gross on day 1 (Thursday) at the box office Kerala, and with these figures, Mammootty starrer became the third highest grosser in the state on an opening day.
The film now legs behind two Mohanlal starrer films Odiyan(Rs 7.10 crores) and Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea (Rs 6.27 crores). Amal Neerad directorial also collected Rs 50 lakhs from the ROI where it was running in the limited shows.
Thereby, Bheeshma Parvam collected Rs 6.50 to 6.75 crores Gross total on the opening day at the BO India.
Bheeshma Parvam is bankrolled by Amal Neerad, he also co-wrote the screenplay with Devadath Shaji, bankrolled by Amal Neerad under the banner Amal Neerad Productions. A&A Release is the distributor.
It features Mammootty (Michael Anjoottikkaran), Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Farhaan Bhasi, Shine Tom Chacko, and late actors Nedumudi Venu and KPAC Lalitha in key roles.
The film is said to be a mass entertainer filled with fighting sequences and amazing dialogues, Anend C Chandran and Vivek Harshan are the cinematographer and Editor respectively, Sushin Shyam gave the music.
