Academy award winner and X-Men series(2000, 2003, 2006, 2014) and John Wick: Chapter3-Parabellum (2019) fame Halle Berry is all set to make her directorial debut with her upcoming Sports Drama Bruised.
It is her long-pending project she started filming it in November 2019, and the shooting was completed in a two-month period of 20 Dec 19, since then the film has been waiting for its release date.
Synopsis
The storyline of the film is about a former UFC( a mixed martial arts championship) champion who left her promising career in disgrace, and now after several years passing in regret, she again got a chance to revive her career back, the story further becomes more interesting when her child to whom she left as an infant, suddenly shows up at her doorstep.

- Halle Berry in the main lead playing the former UFC sports star plays Jackie Justice.
- Mexican American actor Adan Canto is playing Jackie’s manager & B.f role in the film, who arranges a fight which reopens the career of her
- Candian actor Shamier Anderson is playing the role of an MMA league owner who watches a fight of Jackie’s which is arranged by her manager, further, he requested her to join his league.
- British actress Sheila Atim is playing Bobbi Buddhakan Berroa.
- Stephen McKinley Henderson is playing a seasoned trainer of Jackie
- Mixed Martial artist Valentina Shevchenko is playing one of the participants of the MMA league as Ladykiller
- Lela Loren is also featured in the film.
Distribution Rights, Release Date, & Netflix Release Date
Netflix acquired these sports drama distribution rights for 20 million dollars (around 148 crores in INR) in Sept this year. Reportedly the film will release in the selected theatres of the United States and the United Kingdom in November and will premiere on the digital platform Netflix on 24 November 2021.
