Bollywood’s versatile actor and son of Big-B Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan is back with his social comedy film Dasvi, is directly release on OTT platform.

Abhishek received a lot of praise for his role as Harshad Mehta, an Indian stockbroker who was a convict of Stock Manipulation, in the 2021 financial thriller film The Big Bull. The film was liked by the audience as well as critics.

Abhishek was last seen in the crime thriller film Bob Biswas which was released on December 3, 2021 on Zee5. In Dasvi, Junior Bachchan seen in the role of a politician.

Dasvi OTT Rights and Production

Earlier, it was claimed by various media reports that the film will have its release through the big screen but later confirmed that the makers of the movie are opting for its direct digital premiere.

As per the reports, the two most popular over-the-top streaming companies were in the race to acquire the digital rights of the film, and these are Netflix and Disney+ Hotstar.

If we talk about the making of the film, the shooting commenced for its first scheduled on Feb 22, 2021, in Agra and wrapped up March 31, 2021.

After completing the first schedule, the team headed towards Lucknow to start the second schedule of the shooting, booked the slot ‘7th April’ directly on Netflix.

  • Abhishek Bachchan is playing the male lead role of a tenth pass, corrupt politician Ganga Ram Chaudhary
  • Vicky Donor fame Yami Gautam is playing the female lead role as an IPS officer Jyoti Deswal
  • Airlift fame Nimrat Kaur is also playing the female lead as Bimla Devi
  • Apart from the leading star cast, popular YouTuber and actor Arun Kushwah, who is popularly known as Chote Miyan will be seen in the pivotal role. Arun has more than one million subscribers on his Youtube Channel “Chote Miyan”.

Dasvi Makers

This social comedy-drama is written by Suresh Nair, in association with Ritesh Shah who also wrote the screenplay and dialogues for the movies including Kahaani (2012), Pink (2016), Airlift (2017), and Raid (2018.)

The project is helmed by Tushar Jalota who has made his debut as a director with this social comedy-drama. It is bankrolled by filmmaker Dinesh Vijan under the banner of his own production house Maddock Films, alongside Jio Studio.

The film has music by one of the popular music composers duo of Bollywood Sachin  Sanghvi and Jigar Saraiya, popularly known as Sachin-Jigar.

Makers dropped the 2min 42sec official trailer on the social media platforms, the trailer starts with Abhishek as CM Gangaram Chaudhary
entering the jail cell and in his absence, his wife Nimrat (Bimla Devi) took the charge, as the Gangaram in the lock-up with the charge of a teacher recruitment scam.

He indulges in a verbal fallout with the IPS Yami Gautam (Jyoti Deswal) who dishonor him by calling him illiterate, now Gangaram is gearing for his 10th exam which he hadn’t passed. The trailer seems funny, and the jr. Bachchan seems done justice to his role, however, we will have to wait for the film to appear on Netflix.
