After the grand success of his Courtroom drama film Jai Bhim, actor Suriya is now all geared up for his mass-entertainer film Etharkkum Thunindhavan.
Directed and written by Pandiraj, Suriya as an actor and Pandiraj as a filmmaker last worked together in the 2015 Tamil film Pasanga 2 which was the thematic sequel of Pandiraj’s national awardee film Pasanga. Suriya also bankrolled Pandiraj directorial 2018 action drama Kadaikutty Singham.
Etharkkum Thunindhavan Release Date
On July 22, 2021, Suriya dropped the first look of his action drama Etharkkum Thunindhavan just a day before celebrating his 46th birthday. The poster features Suriya holding a sword in his hand, with his face covered with blood and behind him, his adversaries are laid down.
ET is one of the most anticipated Tamil films of the year 2022, as the actor gave two back-to-back critically acclaimed films Soorarai Pottru and Jai Bhim. The film was released on the big screens worldwide on 10 March 2022 with rave reviews.

Suriya starrer received out and out positive reviews, with the praise for direction, Suriya’s vigilantism avatar in the film, and the characters in it which emanated freshness to the predictable plot.
It is being said that the film is a chock-a-block mass entertainer film, the first half is decent and the second half has some poignant scenes. Suriya’s performance is being liked by all. Fan’s have been trending the film on social media platforms, it’ll be interesting to see if this craze translates into a big box office number or not.

Etharkkum Thunindhavan Trailer
Makers dropped the official trailer of ET on 2 March 2022, and within a week the trailer crossed 50 lakh views with 6.4 lakh likes. As per the trailer, Kannabiran (portrayed by Suriya) is a dotting son of his family, he told them about his love interest, everything goes fine until the death of young women starts coming about, further, the main lead shows his vigilantism.

Etharkkum Thunindhavan is the 40th film of Suriya, so it is also called Suriya 40. This film got its title from Shivakumar’s (Suriya’s father) Etharkum Thuninthavan, which was released in 1976.
Panditraj has directed the film and it is bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran (Chairman of Sun Group).
