We have witnessed multi clashes on the occasion of the Diwali festival, however, very few films have done well at the box office among Diwali releases. Biggies like Ram Setu and Thank God have fallen flat at the box office. On the other, Kantara and Ponniyin Selvan continue to churn out moolah from all quarters.
Karthi’s Sardar is the only movie that got benefitted in Diwali week, the film saw its biz grow due to glowing word of mouth. Now that the festive week has gone and we head to the start of November, here is a quick look at movies and shows arriving in theatres and on the OTT platforms like Netflix, AmazonPrime etc, in the upcoming Friday.
Hindi Movies: Phone Bhoot, Mili and Double XL are top films
1- Phone Bhoot
Get ready to watch a hot Bhootni in this fun ride as your favorite Katrina Kaif plays the ‘Bhoot’, it also features Ishaan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi in goofy roles. The horror-comedy is directed by Gurmeet Singh, the trailer of the flick was well received by the viewers and it promises a lot of fun and entertainment.
2- DoubleXL
Double XL is headlined by Huma Qureshi & Sonakshi Sinha, and it is directed by Satramm Ramani. It is filmed in Meerut, Delhi & London and challenges bodyweight stereotypes that have long plagued us as a society. It is a comedy-drama that revolves around two plus-size women. The trailer of the movie seems like a fun ride that depicts massive potential to spark social convo around the subject.
3- Mili
The budding Bollywood actress Jhanvi Kapoor will face a clash with Katrina Kaif and Sonakshi Sinha at the box office. However, it will be interesting who emerges as the winner among the three bold actresses.
Mili is a survival thriller film and the official Hindi remake of the Malayalam movie Helen 2019. It is produced by Boney Kapoor and directed by Mathukutty Xavier. It also features Sunny Kaushal and Manoj Pahwa in key roles.

4-Saturday Night-Malayalam
Nivin Pauly and his again are all set to entertain you in the cinemas from Nov4. It is a comedy movie that promises to be complete entertainment packed with colorful visuals. It is produced by Vinayaka Ajit under Ajith Vinayaa Films. Saturday Night is helmed by renowned Malayalam director Rosshan Andrrews and it features several prominent actors like Siju Wilson, Aju Varghese, Saiju Kurup, and Grace Antony alongside Nivin.
Tamil Movies: Love Today, Coffee with Kadhal, Nitham oru Vaanam
5- Love Today-Tamil
Love Today is billed as a youth entertainer, and director Pradeep Ranganathan has turned into an actor with this rom-com. Going by its trailer it revolves around a couple, Pradeep and Nikitha, and promised to be a fun-filled entertainer.
Pradeep along with acting also directed, wrote, and penned the lyrics. It is produced by S. Aghoram, S. Ganesha, and S. Suresh under the banner AGS Entertainment.

6- Urvasivo Rakshasivo-Telugu
Allu Sirish and Anu Emmanuel starrer Urvashivo Rakshashivo is a modern-day romantic drama. It was previously titled Prema Kadanta. The teaser of the movie is youthful and trendy. Along with Allu and Anu, it has Sunil, Vennela Kishore, Aamani, and Kedar Shankar in the key roles. It is helmed by Rakesh Sashii and bankrolled by Dheeraj Mogilineni and Vijay M.
7- Enola Holmes 2- Netflix
Henry Cavill and Millie Bobby starrer “Enola Holmes” is all set to come up with part 2 on Netflix on Nov 4th. Part 1 was released during the 1st wave of the Pandemic. It received accolades for its pacy narration and charming performances.
Directed by Harry Bradbeer with a screenplay written by Jack Thorne, the latter also co-wrote the story with director Harry.
8- Banaras- Pan India film (Kannada)
Zaid Khan starrer Kannada film Banaras is a romantic comedy, the long-awaited movie has finally got the release date locked for Nov 4th. It is a pan-India film and will be out in theatres in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam along with the original Kannada version.
It has been the year of Kannada films, KGF2, Vikrant Rona, 777Charlie and Kantara won the hearts of the cinephiles, and the eyes will now be on the upcoming Kannada offering Banaras.
