Late actor Puneeth Rajkumar’s starrer “Gandhada Gudi or GG” is finally out in theatres. It is a Kannada docu-drama movie directed by Amoghavarsha JS and produced by Ashini Puneeth Rajkumar under the banner PRK Productions and Mudskipper.
The film received a U certificate from the censor board and it has a runtime of 97minutes or 1hr 37mins. On the online ticket bookings website Bookmyshow.com, over 114.2K people show their interest to watch the film which speaks volumes about the hype that it has created.

Box Office Collection Day 1
It had already created much hype surrounding it before its release through its posters and the trailer. And now it is all set to take a bumper opening at the box office. Gandhada Gudi marks the final release of the power star Puneeth Rajkumar fondly called Appu by his fans. He enjoys a huge fan following in Karnataka.
Despite no grand promotion and marketing, Gandhada Gudi recorded a 62.77% occupancy rate on Friday across all shows. As per the trade reports, it took a start of over 6 crores gross in the home market. And earned 7.5-8 Cr gross domestically.
Advance Bookings Reports Day 1
Gandhada Gudi reportedly occupied 250 screens in the home market (Karnataka). The advance bookings of the flick were recently opened and it has collected a huge 1.72 crores from the ticket sales for the opening day. It sold over 97000 tickets for day 1.
As per the reports, the paid premieres of the flick on Oct 27 evening were sold out within minutes commencing of advance bookings.

Clash
The biz of Gandhada Gudi will show growth on Sat and Sun, on the other, it is locking horns with Kantara in the home market. The latter movie has already been considered a blockbuster and still doing stupendous business in the home market. However, it is remained to be seen to what extent it damages the performance of GG.

There is no doubt the film is carrying massive hype, ever since the actor’s untimely death, his fans have not missed a chance to watch their favorite star on the silver screens. 30 paid premiere shows on Thu were sold out within minutes of commencing the ticket bookings.
Puneeth’s last film James went on to collect over 100 crores within a week and emerged as a blockbuster, his cameo in Lucky Man also attracted the eyeballs. Recently CM Bommai declared the film tax-free in the state. Gandhada Gudi is out in theatres worldwide on Friday in three languages Kannada, Hindi and English.
