S.S. Rajamouli’s Magnum Opus Bags Two Nominations
Mayan Lopez and Selenis Levya of the new NBC comedy series Lopez vs. Lopez, as well as Helen Hoehne, president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), announced the nominations. They presented five nominees for each of the 27 award categories.
It is a matter of pride for every Indian that an Indian film has bagged nominations in two categories at such a prestigious international award ceremony. The film we are talking about is ace Indian director S.S. Rajamouli’s pan-India blockbuster RRR, which has created and broken many records at the box office this year.
Apart from RRR, the other Indian entries recommended were Gangubai Kathiawadi, Kantara, and The Chhellow Show. However, by beating them, RRR became the only Indian film to make it to the top 5 nominations.
The film was nominated for the 2023 Golden Globe Awards in two categories: best picture in a non-English language and best original song for Naatu Naatu.
