Dance choreographer Brinda’s debut directorial Hey Sinamika, starring Mollywood superstar Dulquer Salman, Aditi Rao Hydari and Kajal Aggarwal has been gracing the big screens since March 3, 2021.
The romantic drama film is written by Madhan Karky and jointly bankrolled by Jio Studios, Global One Studios and Viacom18 Studios.
Govinda Vasantha composed the music while Preetha Jayaraman and Radha Sridhar handled the cinematography and editing, respectively.
The Title of the movie was taken from a song in Mani Ratnam’s 2015 romantic comedy film O Kadhal Kanmani, starring Dulquer Salman and Nithya Menen.

The film opened with positive response and eventually garnered the momentum in a week’s time, however, it couldn’t go as expected and witnessed poor pre- ticket sales despite the popularity of its leading star cast.
It was criticized for its slow screenplay and it is said to be a typical Tamil romantic film with nothing new to talk about. Critics also said that it feels more like a mishmash than a wholesome romance.
If we talk about music and songs, became hit even before the release of the film. The lyrics of all the songs titled Achamillai, Thozhi, Megham and Siragaai penned by Madhan Karky.

Although the budget of the film is not revealed by film’s makers, it is said to be made on a budget of Rs. 10 to 12 Crore. Reportedly, the screen-count for the film in India as well as overseas was more than 400 and it grossed 0.85 Crore on the opening day, and at the end of the first week somehow managed to earn Rs. 4.13 Crore.
The sale of the ticket was also affected as just a week before its release megastar Ajith’s action thriller Valimai also had its grand theater release and was continuing its dream running even after the theater release of Hey Sinamika. Hey Sinamika OTT Release Date
The film had its theatrical release on March 3, 2022 in Telugu and Malayalam dubbed version along with the Tamil version and now the film is all set to have its post-theatrical OTT release soon.
According to some media sources, the film will stream on Jio Cinema except Netflix, Netflix Indian confirmed the release date is 31st March 2022.
Earlier, Dulquer Salman’s crime thriller drama Kurup also had streaming on the platform in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.

Plot of the Movie
The story of the movie revolves around a love triangle between Yaazhan (Dulquer Salman), Mouna (Aditi Rao Hydari) and Malarvizhi (Kajal Aggarwal). It starts with Yaazhan and Mouna falling for each other and getting married.
Things take turns as after two years of being married, Mouna becomes so annoyed by her husband’s overly affectionate and talkative nature that she tries to get rid of him.
Meanwhile, Dr. Malarvizhi came into Yaazhan life and fell for him, seeing their bond makes Mouna Jealous and now she wants her husband back. What happens next is what the story is all about.
