The 2nd installment in the HIT verse, “Hit: The 2nd Case”, has finally graced the cinemas. The film has grossed huge in the pre-sales and going by the trade reports, it has taken a big start at the box office.
It is a mystery thriller starring Adivi Sesh playing the character Krishna Dev aka KD. The film is issued A certificate by the censor board with a runtime of 2hr or 120minutes. It has created a good pre-release buzz through the trailer and posters as over 69K people have shown interest in the film on the BookMyShow website.

It is produced by Prashanti Tipirneni and Nani under the banner Wall Poster Cinema, makers are so sure about the film’s success in the original version so much so that they have pre-decided to release the film in the Hindi version as well.
Hit 2 Break Even Target and Screen Counts
The theatrical rights of the film have been sold at 14.25 Crs worldwide which includes 10.25 Crs in Telugu and Rs 4 Crs in the overseas territories and the rest of India.
It has occupied 955 theatres worldwide, the film has been released the most in 550 theatres in the two Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana). It occupied 85 theatres in the Rest of India and 320 theatres in the overseas market.

It opened on a massive note in the U.S., the film has accumulated $220K in the U.S. premieres by Friday morning and counting. Talking about India, the film has sold overall 1.6L+ tickets for the opening day worth 2.82 crores.
Hit 2 Occupancy Report
It has opened to very good response during the morning shows and witnessed an upward trend in occupancy rates over noon, eve, and night shows. The film registered 39.48% occupancy in the morning, 36.60% during the afternoon shows, 44.21% during the evening and it reached over 60% over the night shows for a day 1 Telugu occupancy of 45.34%.

Hit 2 needs to recover 15 Cr shares to acquire the tag of a clean hit. And going by the trends, the film has opened on a flying note at the box office. As per the trade estimations, it netted 6-6.5 Cr on the first day in the domestic market alone.
From here, it looks like it will draw in over 20 crores in the first three days completing the break-even target on the weekend itself.
