Global OTT streaming giant Netflix has announced the second season of its popular reality television series Indian Matchmaking, which made its debut on the platform on July 16, 2020.
The show received lots of love as well as hate in 2020 as the show sparked many controversies after its debut. Despite lots of trolling and criticism, the series made it to the nomination in the prestigious Emmy Awards 2021, and made everyone surprised. So, whether or not you are a fan of the show, you just cannot be oblivious of it.
Indian Matchmaking Season 2 Release Date
With the return of the show, we will also see the return of marriage consultant Sima Taparia, who is from Mumbai, and is popularly called Sima Aunty, who helps individuals in finding their perfect-match.
Now, two years after the first season premiered, the seance season of Indian Matchmaking is set to rock on OTT platform. Matchmaker Sima Taparia also took to her social media accounts and announced the release date.
As per her social media post, the 8-episode show will premiere on Netflix on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, as per Pacific Standard Time (PST), which means, in India, viewers will get to watch it from Thursday, August 11, 2022 on the platform. So if you are a fan of Sim aunty as well as her show, save the date, and get ready to watch the series on Netflix.

Indian Matchmaking Season 2 Cast
The show created and executive produced by Indian-American filmmaker Smriti Mundhra, features matchmaker Sima Taparia from Mumbai, who previously appeared on Mudhra’s 2017 documentary film A Suitable Boy.
Some of her clients in the first season were Aparna Shewakramani from Houston, Pradhyuman Malo and Akshay Jakhete from Mumbai, Vyasar from Austin, Nadia from New Jersey and Ankita Bansal. Like the previous season, the second season will also feature an eclectic mix of clients.
About the Show
The series revolves around matchmaker Sima Taparia who guides her clients in the United States and India in the marriage process, offering an inside look at the custom in a modern era, and finding suitable partners for her clients.
The show is produced by the Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC), a part of Sony Pictures TV. Along with Mundhra, Aaron Saidman, Eli Holzman and J.C. Begley also serve as executive producers of the show.
In March, Netflix announced plans to expand the franchise with a new Jewish Matchmaking show. The spin-off will guide singles in America and Israel who seek a Jewish matchmaker using the traditional practice of shidduch to help them find their soulmate.
