“Karthikeya 2” has created a good hype surrounding the film ahead of the release with its interesting promotional content and its riveting trailer. It will be released in cinemas in all five languages, original Telugu and the dubbed versions Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil on Aug 13.
It serves as the sequel to the critically and commercially successful 2014 film Karthikeya, Nikhil Siddharth will return in the role of Dr. Karthikeya Kumarasamy, Anupama Parameswaran (Premam, Kurup, Rowdy Boys) roped in to play Mughda and the veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher will be seen playing the character Dhanvanthri, reportedly.

Trailer Review
The grand theatrical trailer of the film was unveiled a few days ago and it captured the attention of the viewers with rich visuals, BGM, and many wow moments. Going by trailer, in the sequel, Dr. Kartikeya seems on a search for secrets buried beneath the sea near Dwarka (Lord Krishna’s terrestrial kingdom), the film is said to be about finding the truth of Lord Krishna. It has already generated a buzz before the release of this epic mystical adventure.
Screen Counts & Break Even
It will be released in multiple languages across the country and is expected to be screened in around 300-400 screens in the home market (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana). The pre-release business of the film is yet to be announced, as per the estimation, the breakeven target of the film will be around Rs 15-20 crore in the Telugu states. Box Office Collection
The trailer has already generated the much-needed buzz surrounding the film and it is a sequel so the expectations will be high from the flick. Going by the trends it will collect around Rs 6-8 Cr gross on Day 1 at the box office worldwide. Bimbisara and Sita Ramam ended the dry spell of the Tollywood industry at the box office and one will hope that Karthikeya 2 will continue the trend forward.

About the Film
It is written and directed by Chandoo Mondeti and produced by Abhishek Agarwal and TG Viswa Prasad under the banner Abhishek Agarwal Arts and People Media Factory. On the technical front, Karthik Gattamneni handled the cinematography as well as edited the film. Kaala Bhairava gave the music in the film.
