Directed and written by Chandoo Mondeti, Karthikeya 2 is a Telugu supernatural thriller film which is the sequel to 2014 acclaimed film Karthikeya which starred Nikhil Siddharth in the lead role, was also helmed by Mondeti.
Karthikeya 2 marks the 6th film of Mondeti as a director after Karthikeya, Premam, Kirik Party, Savyasachi and Bloody Mary. The sequel was announced in 2017 with the principle photography commencing in February 2021. The filming took place in India as well as Europe.

Actor Nikhil Siddharth is reprising his role as Karthikeya Karthik Kumaraswamy from the first film whereas Anupama Parameswaran played his love interest Mugdha. The film also stars veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher as Dhanvanthri.
Additionally, Srinivasa Reddy is playing Sadananda, Harsha Chemudu as Suleman, Adithya Menon as Shantanu, Praveen and Satya as Karthik’s friends. Veteran actress Tulasi is playing the role of Karthik’s mother in the film.

The film is backed by “The Kashmir Files” producer Abhishek Agarwal’s Abhishek Agarwal Arts in association with TG Vishwa Prasad’s People Media Factory. On the technical front, Karthik Ghattamneni is cranking the camera as well as doing the editing work whereas Kaala Bhairava has composed the music.
Karthikeya 2 OTT Release Date
The film had grand theatrical release on August 13, 2022 in Telugu along with dubbed Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages. It was earlier scheduled to be released on July 22, 2022 but was postponed due to clash with Naga Chaitanya’s Thank You.
The post theatrical OTT rights of the film sold in a whopping amount to India’s leading OTT platform ZEE5. The movie is all set to stream on the platform 50 days after its theatrical run, streaming on ZEE5 in the first week of October (5th Oct- Hindi, Tamil and Telugu).
