Written and directed by Puri Jagannadh, Liger is an Indian sports action film, which holds the banner of Dharma Productions and Puri Connects, produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Jagannadh, and Charmme Kaur.

The film is shot in two languages, Hindi and Telugu. It will also have dubbed versions in Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam. The famous boxer, Mike Tyson is said to make his debut in the Indian film industry with Liger.

Liger Star Cast

The big banner film has some big names linked with it. With Vijay Deverakonda playing the lead role of Arjun Reddy, and Ananya Panday playing the female lead role of Sai Pallavi, we see Ramya Krishna, Ronit Roy, Ali, Makarand Deshpande, Getup Srinu, Abdul Quadir Amin, and Mike Tyson (in a cameo appearance) in pivotal roles.

Liger Release Date

The movie was supposed to be released on September 9, 2021, but due to the pandemic Covid-19, the release was postponed to 2022 and final date is 25 Aug 2022 for this Pan India Film stars Vijay Deverakonda and Ananyda Panday in key roles.

Liger Plot

Liger is an action movie based on boxing, where Vijay Deverakonda plays the role of a kickboxer who follows a strict exercise regime. He also is an expert at kickboxing, and martial arts and leaves no stone unturned to transform himself and even visits Thailand for his training.

The movie will feature Ananya Panday in her first Telugu movie and Vijay Deverakonda in his first Hindi movie. Before Ananya, Jhanvi Kapoor was the filmmaker’s first choice but ended up signing Ananya Panday. The Iron Mike Tyson is said to be playing a very pivotal role in the film.

Liger Trailer and Teaser

An official concept trailer of the film was released earlier this year on May 1, 2021, where we see Vijay in the role of a kickboxer. We also witness Ananya Panday in her usual glamorous role.

The trailer can be clearly deciphered as an action-packed film that begins with the dialogue “your fight is bigger than any of these championships because your fight is with yourself”. We can very well understand that the protagonist of the movie is a hard taskmaster who is doing anything and everything to toughen himself up.

Liger Poster

The Pan-India film’s poster was released with the tagline “Saala Crossbreed”. This justifies the fact that Vijay is a mixed martial arts player who is referred to as a crossbreed of these arts.

Recently, the makers of the film also released a poster with Mike Tyson’s image, on Diwali, welcoming the legendary boxer on board!
