1- Samrat Prithviraj
A movie based on India’s one of the Greatest Kings Prithviraj Chauhan was one of the much-awaited for a long, expectations were high from Akshay Kumar and the YRF banner’s collaboration but they failed to deliver it as expected.
Former Miss World Manushi Chillar’s debut to Sonu Sood and Sanjay Dutt’s supporting roles along with Khiladi Kumar couldn’t save this big-budget (₹ 175 Cr) war period drama.
Samrat Prithviraj was released on 3rd June, instant mixed reviews already harmed its Box Office Start, and the film struggled to collect just 70 Crore (₹ 66 Cr India Nett).
2- Anek
Anubhav Sinha directed movie with the hero AyushmanN Khurrana was a Political action thriller movie in which Ayushmaan was a secret agent on a mission with the motive to join the country together.
Anek was Andrea Kevichusa a Nagaland-based model first Bollywood debut movie with Manoj Pahwa, Sushil Pandey, Kumud Mishra, and other Bollywood celebrities in the cast.
The movie was only for 7 days in the theaters and did not reach even 10 cores. The budget for the movie was 45 core and the box office collection was not good, Ayushman Khurana in the lead and the Nagaland actress movie was a flop in 2022.
3- Dhaakad
Kangana Ranaut’s dhaakad movie was a 2 hours 15 min film based on a crime thriller concept with an aim to tell the audience that humanity should always be above evilness disappointed the audience.
The audience was very excited about the film as Kangana has promised everyone that this movie will be more amazing as the spy in the movie is a woman rather than a man that we have seen in most the movies.
She is known for her boldness and confident behavior and was playing the role of a lady women spy who is on a mission to save humanity with celebrities like Arjun Rampal, and Divya Dutta.
The cinematography was done by a 70-year-old Japanese cinematographer Tetsuo Nagata. This was Tetsuo Nagata’s debut in Bollywood as this was his first Indian film in which he was doing the cinematography.
Dhaakad was released on 20 May 2022 and was a major Bollywood disaster with a budget of 85 core and a collection of only 2and half core.
4- Jayeshbhai Jordaar
A movie based on a Gujarati sarpanch family who wants a baby boy from their son was a comedy-drama movie with social awareness. Ranveer Singh is in the lead with Shalini Pandey and Boman Irani.
Ranveer sing has given many super hit movies and the expectation of people was the same but the audience did not like the concept of the movie very much. The budget of the movie was very big ( 86 CR) but the audience didn’t like the concept of the film and the box office earnings were just (17 CR)
The movie’s name was revealed in May 2019 and then due to covid the movie’s release date got delayed from May to October 2020 and then to 2021. The movie was finally released on 13 May 2022 and Ranveer sing’s social comedy was unsuccessful.
5- Heropanti 2
Sajid Nadiad Wala Heropanti 1 was very much loved by the audience so part 2 was made under the banner of Nadiadwala grandson entertainment with a very big budget of 85CR with cast Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria, and Nawaz Uddin Siddiqui.
The movie was released on the occasion of Eid on 29 April 2022 and was not appreciated by the audience as the 2nd part was not connected with the first part. Accept the heroes and title the cast and story were totally different from the first part and that is something which has made the movie flop.
The song of the movie by AR Rehman was also not enjoyed by the audience as it seems like the director has just made the movie with the thinking that if he is going to make stars and singers in the movie so it will give a hit. There were many things that were missing in the movie and was one of the least earned movies of 2022.
6- Runway 34
Runway 34 was a real event-based story with actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Boman Irani, Akanksha, and Rakul Preet singing in the major roles. The movie was about a jet airway flight that has to go to Kochin international airport but due to bad weather and other difficulties, it reaches very late.
Before runway 34 the name of the movie was mayday but then was changed. Ajay at the time of promotion has said that the movie is dedicated to the piolets as the life of several people are in hands of the piolet as he is the one who will look towards all the passengers at the time of mishappening or in any bad situation.
The movie was released on 29 May 2022 and Heropanti 2 was also released on the same day but the team of the runway34 was very confident about their movie as they think that people with love the movie because it is made in an original situation but the film did not earn the money that was used in making the film.
7- Jersey
Shahid Kapoor’s sports drama movie was a remake of a Telugu movie with the same name jersey. The Telugu movie was released in 2019 and the shahid movie was released on 22 April 2022.
The movie was released after KGF and was in the cinema for 7 days only as the audience loved of more than the jersey movie. The budget for the movie was 95CR and the gross collection of the movie is 27.5CR only.
The film failed miserably at the box office and the main two reasons are that the chemistry of shahid Kapoor and Murunal Thakur was loved by the audience but the when the shooting of jersey was started that time the Hindi version of the Telugu movie jersey was broadcasted in the television and most of the people has already watched it and the music was also not enjoyed by the audience of the 2022 jersey movie.
8- Attack
The concept of john Abraham’s starter movie attack was very much different from the other Bollywood movie as the movie was based on science fiction and action. There were two herons in the movie Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakul Preet Singh and Prakash raj Ratna Pathak in the supporting role.
According to john, the movie was completely a very different movie and an experiment that he has done to show the audience something new. The movie was released on 1 April 2022 it was going to be released in 2019 but due to covid, the dates got delayed.
The movie didn’t bomb the box office as the budget was 80 CR and has only done business of 55 CR but the director and the star cast are very proud of themselves as they have made a unique concept movie after covid 19 pandemic. The
9- Bachachhan Paandey
Akshay Kumar’s 2nd bad movie of 2022 is Bachchhan Paandey. The movie is a remake of the Tamil film jiharthanda which was released in 2014. With Akshay Kumar, there was Kriti Sanoon, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Arshad Warsi in this action-comedy movie.
The Tamil film was also itself was inspired by a Korean film which was about a dirty carnival. So Bachachhan Pandey was the 3 remake and most the people have watched both the films so were not interested in watching Akshay Kumar’s remake film.
The budget for the remake movie was 165 CR and it did not even reach half the business. As the box office collection was 50CR.
10- Radhe Shyam
Prabhas one of the most famous celebrities in the south industry was in the romantic drama movie with heroin Pooja Hegde. The movie was made in two languages Hindi and Telugu.
The business of the movie was not good as the review of the movie was mixed and huge fan following in Hindi belt. The chemistry between the hero and heroine was loved by the audience but the screenplay and narration were not liked and enjoyed by the audience.
Radhe Shyam was released on 11th March 2022 with a budget of 300CR as the director thinks that the movie will return the more because of the stardom of the hero but the film was unsuccessful and has done a business of 110 CR.
11- Raksha Kavach Om
After disasters in a row, latest release Om: The Battle Within or Raksha Kavach Om is not showing good sign but Aditya Roy Kapur’s action avatar is sensational topic after this release. It’s more than a week now, and Aditya Roy Kapoor’s OM couldn’t reach 10 Cr at Box Office.
11- Khuda Haafiz 2
Action hero Vidyut Jammwal’s Khuda Haafiz first part was released post covid-19 and saw its direct OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar, received positive reviews, so makers were sure success of sequel and releases the second chapter in theatres but film failed at BO.
12- Shamshera
Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera is not wait Worthy, it’s negative reviews hint towards another Box Office failure. Karan Malhotra directed this big Banner (YRF) failed to impress. Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Ronit Roy are in pivotal roles, couldn’t save this film.
