Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, Prey is an upcoming science fiction series which is based on the “Predator” franchise by Jim Thomas and John Thomas. It is the fifth installment of the franchise which is serving as the prequel of the first four films.
Produced by 20th Century Fox, the series began with Predator (1987) directed by John McTiernan, and was followed by Predator 2 (1990), Predators (2010) and The Predator (2018).
The development of Prey began during the production of The Predator in 2018 when its producer John Davis was approached by Trachtenberg and its writer Patrick Aison, with the concept they had been conceptualizing since 2016.
Prey OTT Release Date
Produced by John Davis along with Marty P. Ewing, John Fox and Jhane Myers, the film was released on August 5, 2022. Unlike the previous installment, which had a theatrical release, Prey released directly on popular American OTT streaming platform Hulu.
Now Hindi audiences can ride a journey full of adventures again, streaming now from October 7, 2022, Friday.

Prey Star Cast
The film stars Amber Midthunder in the lead role as Naru, a young Comanche warrior who protects her tribe against a predator. The actress is known for her roles in the FX series Legion and The CW series Roswell, New Mexico as well as appearances on Longmire and Banshee.
Actor and former professional basketball player Dane DiLiegro is playing as The Predator in the film. Apart from these two, the film also features Dakota Beavers as Taabe, Stormee Kipp, Julian Black Antelope and Michelle Thrush in the key roles.
Prey Trailer
The makers released an early 2.5 minute long trailer of the film over a month ago, on June 7, 2022. Set in 1719, Prey takes place 268 years before the events of the first film, Predator.
The trailer of the film centered around Naru, a young woman who has an aspiration to become a Comanche warrior, however, her tribe apparently does not think she is a good enough hunter to achieve that status.
Throughout the trailer, viewers also get to see the Predator in full apex- hunter mode, murdering bear with ease, showing off its skilled hand-to-hand combat and invisibly chasing down human prey through out a field.
