Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan: 1 has been on the record breaking-spree at the box office. It has already emerged as the third highest-grossing Tamil movie ever and it has recently gone past the 150 crores gross mark in the Tamil Nadu state.
It has now crossed the 400 crores gross mark at the box office worldwide. The flick stars Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Trisha, Shobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj and Jayaram in the main lead roles.

PS1 Crosses 400 Crs WW
Box office tracker Ramesh Bala took to Twitter on Tue (Oct 11) to announce that PS1 has crossed the 400 crores worldwide mark. And has become the third film in Tamil movies history to achieve this feat after Rajini’s 2Point0 and Kamal Haasan’s Vikram which was released in mid-2022 and had taken the box office by storm.

PS1 Overtakes Vikram in Karnataka
Industry tracker and trade analyst, Ramesh Bala took to Twitter and wrote that PS1 has overtaken the Vikram biz in Karnataka to become the highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2022, there.

He also shared that, PS1 has crossed the Viswasam and Baahubali 2 lifetime TN biz to become the 2nd highest-grosser Tamil movie of all-Time in Tamil Nadu. It is now only behind Ulganayagan’s Vikram which has grossed over 190 crores in the state.

Rajini’s 2Point0 record of $5.50M has been overtaken by PS1 at the box office U.S. The latter has grossed $5.54M at the U.S box office.
Box Office Collection Day 11
It has clocked in 1.79 crores from the advance bookings for Monday and touched the 1L ticket sales on Day 11 in advance bookings. Now, as per the early trade trends, it records a drop in earnings on its second Monday. As per the early estimations, it clocks in Rs 13-15 crores gross on Day 11 to take the total collections in the vicinity of 400 crores.
On the other it will cross the 170 crore mark in Tamil Nadu on Mon (Day 11), it is now only 20 crores behind to become the highest-grossing the Tamil movie in Tamil Nadu.
