The latest release Tamil film “Ponniyin Selvan: Part One” or “PS1” is wreaking havoc at the box office, currently. It had taken an earth-shattering start at the box office and continues to mint money since then. The magnum opus had another stupendous day at the BO worldwide.
The epic period action opened to rave reviews from the critics and took a record-breaking start of over 82 crores at the box office, as per the industry trackers, it has taken a fourth best start at the box office worldwide for a Tamil film, after 2.0 (95-100 Cr), Kabali (87.5Cr), and Beast (86.15Cr).
Box Office Collection Day 3
As per the early estimations, it draws in another 75-80 crores at the box office, taking its total collections over 225-230 crores worldwide. With this, It has also crossed the 75 crores mark in the home market (Tamil Nadu) on Sunday.
Reportedly, the theatrical rights of the Ponniyin Selvan were sold at Rs 130 Cr worldwide and the flick now needs to recover only 15 crores+ shares to cross the breakeven target.
As per the industry tracker, Ramesh Bala, the 3-day opening weekend collections of PS-1 stands at more than 230 crores at the box office worldwide.

Advance Bookings Report Day 3
The total two days collections of PS-1 stands in the vicinity of 150 crores globally, and the weekend collections reach over 220 crores. It recorded yet another fantastic day in terms of ticket sales, PS1 had collected over Rs 17.50 crore from the ticket sales on Sunday. It is the highest sales for the film since its release.
It has sold over 7.6 Lakhs tickets worth Rs 15.11 Cr followed by Rs 1.20 Cr in Telugu, it has shown decent growth in the Hindi version as it clocked in a similar amount as the Telugu version of over 1 cr.
