PS1 Box Office Collection Day 4: Now, Eying Break Even Target!

It looks like Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan’s part one aka PS1 is not in the mood of slowing down at the box office, the epic period action film has churned out 200 crores, globally, in its first weekend and is now eying the breakeven target to emerge as a successful venture at the box office.

The movie is getting rave reviews for its engaging story, direction, VFX, faithfulness to the novel, cinematography and the performances of the main leads. It boasts the powerhouses Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Sobhita Dhulipala, Aiswarya Lekshmi, Jayaram and Prakash Raj.

Box Office Collection Day 4

Ponniyin Selvan did a double-digit business in Tamil Nadu again. As per the industry tracker, Manobala Vijayan, PS-1 had one of the best Mondays among Tamil releases with double-digit figures at the Tamil Nadu box office.

On the other, BO tracker and trade analyst, Ramesh Bala informed the audience that PS-1 has grossed past 250 crores at the box office worldwide, in just 4 days of its release.

It is doing very well in other versions too, the Telugu version of the flick has grossed over 14 crores in three days with 7.5+ crores shares. The Hindi version of the flick is also said to have collected over 7 crore nett in the weekend.

PS1 Eying Break Even Target

As per the south trade circle reports, the worldwide theatrical rights of PS1 have been sold at 130 crores. And the flick so far has recovered over 107 crores distributor’s shares. That means it is only 25-30 crore shares away to enter the profit zone breaching the break-even target.

PS1 Advance Report Day 4

After gaining momentum over the weekend, the multi-starrer is rock solid at the box office, if its advance reports are to go by. It has clocked in Rs 8.40 crores for the 4th day by selling over 4.7 L tickets, of which 7.31 cr came in from the Tamil version alone, Rs 45L from the Telugu version and 25L-34L from the Hindi-Malayalam versions, respectively.
