It has been a blockbuster year for the Tamil industry in terms of delivering money spinners at the box office. Valimai, Thiruchitrambalam, Vikram, and ET turned out to be huge successes at the box office.
Now, the pan-Indian Tamil film “Ponniyin Selvan-1” or “PS1” is all set to enter the top 10 highest-grosser Tamil films of all time list. Recently makers confirmed that it has grossed 200 crores at the box office releasing a poster of the same.

Crosses 100 crores in TN
Now, as per the BO tracker Ramesh Bala, PS-1 has grossed 100 crores at the Tamil Nadu box office. With this, it has become the 5th movie to achieve the feat after Vikram, Valimai, Beast and KGF2.

As per the industry tracker Manobal Vijayan, PS1 passed the Monday test with flying colors, according to Manobala, it has grossed 82.79 crores in 4 days. It will now eye for the 100 crore mark on the weekdays in Tamil Nadu.

Advance Bookings Report Day 5
Mani Ratnam’s flick has shown growth in terms of ticket sales on Tuesday. In the anticipation of Dussehra on Wednesday, the ticket sales of PS1 have increased for Tuesday. It has clocked in a huge 10 crores+ through ticket sales for Day 5. It draws in most from the Tamil version Rs 8.79 Cr followed by Telugu (Rs 49L), Hindi (Rs 39L), and Malayalam ( Rs 49L).

PS1 Crosses 250 crores at the BO WW
Although the makers are yet to confirm, many websites are claiming that PS-1 has grossed 250 crores at the box office, globally. Recently, industry tracker Ramesh Bala also tweeted about the same. If it is true then the flick stands at no. 8 position in the list of the highest-grossing Tamil films of all time side by side Rajini’s Petta.
Whatever, the box office numbers are, it is certain that PS1 is doing phenomenally well at the box office which is tangible from its stupendous advance bookings.
All About Ponniyin Selvan 1
The epic period action drama is directed by Mani Ratnam, it is his dream project. Ponniyin Selvan is made with a budget of 500 crores, earlier it was intended to be a single film but was split into two parts. It has been released in cinemas with rave reviews, the flick is doing stupendous business at the box office across all versions, and it is all set to emerge as a 14th clean in hit in Telugu states, soon.
It is bankrolled by Mani Ratnam and Subaskaran Allirajah under the banner of Madras Talkies and Lyca productions.
