R. Madhavan’s Rocketry after opening on a slow note at the box office, stays steady on the weekdays. The film is based on former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan’s autobiography “Ready to Fire: How India and I survived the ISRO spy case” and captures the scandal which changed his life forever and unravels the truth behind it.

R. Madhavan along with portraying the role of Nambi Narayanan also directed, wrote and produced the film under the banners Tricolour Films, Varghese Moolan Pictures 27th Entertainment.

Box Office Collection 1st Weekend

Rocketry was opened with positive feedback from the critics despite this the film failed to garner the expected footfalls at the cinemas. It saw only Rs 1.73 cr coming in, on Day 1,  the film witnessed growth over the weekend and collected over Rs 8.3 crores on the first weekend in India.

The opening weekend Hindi collections of Madhavan’s Rocketry were also not on par with expectations, it collected only Rs 3.67 Cr in the Hindi circuit during the 1st weekend.

Box Office Collection Weekdays

After a low opening weekend, Rocketry was steady on the weekdays, it minted around Rs 1.3 Cr on Mon (Day 4) which is not much less than the Friday collections. The film saw a slight unexpected growth on Tue (Day 5), as per the BO tracker Sacnilk, it earned Rs 1.3 Cr on Mon showing a growth of 2.34 %. Taking the total collections to Rs 11.03 crores.

Box Office Collection Day 6

As per the media reports, Rocketry saw growth on Day 5 due to favorable word of mouth. The moviegoers are also demanding tax-free status for the film in the country. Going by the trend it will stay steady on Tue, as per our estimation, it will collect in the range of Rs 1.25 to 1.35 crores** in India on Day 6 (Tue).

Having said that, it will be a tough road ahead for Maddy’s film as this week’s release films will possibly create a dent in its collections.
