Story & Trailer
The nearly 3-minute long trailer has been launched amidst a lot of buzz by one of India’s most successful captains of India cricket team, Sourav Ganguly. It starts with Taapsee as Mithali, telling her friends that she was only 8, when someone dreamt her of a team- women in blue, just like Men in Blue. Vijay Raaz can be seen as her coach who recognised her talent when she was just a child and sent her to a women’s cricket academy.
Further, it shows how much difficulties she faces in the academy where her senior cricketer troubles and discourages her. Not even in the academy but struggle continues even after she becomes the captain of Indian National Women Cricket Team as even the management staff and selector don’t take the team seriously and don’t complete the basic needs of the team. The film perfectly shows the journey of the cricketing legend and her contribution to make the cricket team a world class team.
Performance
Taapsee, known for her excellent performance in movies like Pink, Thappad, Saand Ki Aankh etc., has again proved why she is one of the acclaimed actresses of the film industry. She perfectly portrayed the character of Mithali Raj from Childhood to one of the most successful cricket icons.
For the cricketer icon and former cricketer team captain Mithali Raj, who announced her retirement from International cricket on June 8, 2022, after her record-breaking career of 23 years, nothing else could be a perfect tribute to the film. Overall, we can say Taapsee has done justice to the role of Mithali Raj, after watching the trailer.
