Ranbir Kapoor led Shamshera after much anticipation finally graced the cinemas. The film is set in the 1800s and follows the storyline of the titular character who is a slave and then becomes a leader and then a legend for his tribe. It is set in the fictitious city of Kaza where a dacoit tribe fights against the Britishers for their independence.
Ranbir is portraying the titular role of Shamshera, it marks his arrival on the silver screens after 4 yrs of Sanju. The film has already created a buzz through posters, trailers, and promos. The film releases in cinemas on 22 July in all three languages Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Box Office Collection Day 1
Ranbir’s comeback film tanks with low figures on the opening days, as it performed below par expectations, as per the early trade estimations, it earns Rs 10-11 Cr range on the first day.
Earlier it was expected, that Shamshera could end the dry spell of the box office, now it looks like only days are passing but the results are the same. The film had low advances than BB2 and upon it, the low ticket pricing relegates its advance collections below Jug Jugg Jeeyo. Following no craze for Ranbir starrer exhibitors had to cancel morning and afternoon shows due to zero occupancy, as per the reports.

Screen Counts & Budget
This biggie is said to be made on a budget of Rs 150 crores, talking about the screen counts, it got the highest screen counts post-pandemic for a Bollywood film in the domestic market, releases on 5550 screens worldwide, which consists 4350 in India and 1200 overseas. It beats the domestic screen count of Samrat Prithviraj (3750), 83′ the film (3741), Sooryavanshi (3519), and Bhool Bhulaiyaa (3200).
Advance Bookings
The advance bookings report for Ranbir starrer was decent, as per Bollywood Hungama, it sold 23000 tickets till Wed night at the three national chains PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis. The final ticket bookings falls short of Kartik’s BB2 in total no. of tickets and Varun’s JJJ in terms of collection. As the ticket pricing of Shamshera is 40% lower in these properties than of JJJ.
