Vivek Agnihotri’s directorial The Kashmir Files is getting a huge amount of footfalls at the ticket windows. The film collection has been unprecedented at the box office and is declared a box office success within its first weekend.
The film was released on 11 March (Friday) and since then has been trending on Twitter. It got rave reviews from the viewers and the critics, many took to Twitter and shared their views about the film.
One of them is Uri (2019) director Aditya Dhar, who himself a Kashmiri Pandit, praising Vivek and Anupam Kher, wrote, “Being a Filmmaker myself I Couldn’t Have Made a Better Film Than This On My Own Tragedy… Hats off to Vivek and Anupam Kher Ji.”
Earlier the film, ahead of its release came into controversy when a UP resident filed a PIL before the Bombay high court seeking a stay on the film’s release, however, Court dismissed the Plea later and the film was released on the scheduled time slot.
It stirs another controversy when recently the film IMDb rating has come down from 10 to 8.3 on account of unusual voting activity owing to which the IMDb rating site applied the alternate weighting calculation. Further, when a fan drew the attention of the filmmaker to the news, Vivek replied that it was unusual and unethical.
The way this low-budget film gets enormous love and affection from the people across the country many are comparing it to Sunny Deol’s Gadar, which had created the rampage at the box office in its time. As per the trade analysts film’s lifetime collection would be around 150 to 180 crore nett from the domestic market.
Having said all this, reportedly the film has been fallen prey to notorious piracy sites like Tamilrockers, Movierulz, Worldfree4u, Filmywap, 9xmovie, etc.
If reports are to be believed the film has been leaked online on these piracy sites in the theatre print. It is also being said that some miscreants are circulating the pirated versions of the film in telegram etc.
However, we will request moviebuffs that do not entertain these torrent sites. If you don’t want to watch the film on the big screens wait for the film till it is made available on the OTT platform.
