MCU’s latest outing Thor 4 was opened with mixed to positive reviews from the critics, it saw an excellent start at the box office in India considering it was a midweek (Thursday) release film.
“Thor 4” or “Thor: Love and Thunder” was released on July 7, 2022, in Indian cinemas, in all six languages English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. It took off a flying start at the box office and earned Rs 18.5 Cr+ nett making it the 5th highest opening day grosser Hollywood film of all time.
Surprisingly, all the top 5 positions are bagged by Marvel films. Thor 4 is also the 2nd highest day 1 grosser in the country after Doctor Strange 2 (Rs 27.50 Cr).

Box Office Collection Day 4
After opening to a good note, Thor 4 performed below par on Day 2 with a major drop of 30% in the collections, however, the film shows a thunderous comeback on Day 3 with a whopping growth of over 47%. Thor 4 earned Rs 16.80 Cr on Sat almost similar to Fri.
And again showing the growth of almost 10% in the collections, it accumulated Rs 18.40 Cr on Sun (Day 4), the Eid was also the factor in its growth. The total collections of “Thor 4” or “Thor: Love and Thunder” now stands at Rs 64.80 Cr in India.

Comparison with DS2 and Spiderman: NWH
Chris starrer performed really well at the box office on weekend 1 (4 days) even after facing a dip in the collections on Day 2, however, it failed to collect more than Doctor Strange 2’s opening weekend (3 days). From here it seems it will target the Rs 100 Cr lifetime collection, it will become more clear how it performs on weekdays.
Doctor Strange 2 had accumulated Rs 79.50 Cr on the opening weekend, making the week 1 collection to Rs 101.49 Cr. The lifetime collection of the film stands at Rs 130 Cr.
On the other, Spiderman: NWH had earned almost half of its collections on the opening weekend itself, the film had garnered Rs 108.37 crores on weekend 1, making its week 1 collection Rs 148 Cr+. The lifetime collections of Spiderman: NWH stands at Rs 218.41 Cr.
