The highly anticipated Tamil film Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu will arrive in cinemas near you this Thursday. It has generated a good hype ahead of the release which is evident from the advance bookings report of the movie.
Maanaadu fame Silambarasan is playing the main lead along with him newcomer Siddhi Idnani, Raadhika Sarathkumar, and Siddique in key roles. Directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, who is a celebrated filmmaker in the Tamil Industry.
Hows’s the Hype?
It is a musical gangster drama movie, which revolves around Muthuveeran’s (Silmabarasan) life’s journey. It has music given by the academy award winner A.R Rahman.
The trailer of the Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu was dropped on social media 2 weeks before the release of the movie and it is winning the internet. It is getting appreciation for the major body transformation of Simbu, his looks, and performance, it was also praised for the technical aspects of the movie e.g visuals, music, editing and production design.
The Telugu trailer has been dropped 3 days before the Telugu release, which is voiced by Ramya Krishnan, and the voice-over in Telugu is written by Tharun Bhaskar.
Advance Bookings Report
As per the trade reports, Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is witnessing an amazing response to the advances. Till Monday noon, it had sold over 52,000 tickets worth Rs 95 L for the opening day.
Now, as per the latest reports, it sold over 1.28 L tickets worth Rs 2.40 Cr gross, as of Wednesday, 5 pm for day 1.
Budget and Screen Counts
As the release date of the movie is nearing, the promotion of the movie is in full swing, makers are leaving no stone unturned to promote the film. It is comprised of two parts, with the first part the kindling being released on Thursday.
It has already made an uproar through its trailer, which is still trending across the country, the movie is said to be made on a budget of over 30 crores and will see a wide release in TN.
Box Office Collection Day 1
Going by the advance bookings and the buzz it has created, it looks like the solid opening is on cards, especially in the home market (Tamil Nadu). As per the early trends, it will take a double-digit start in Tamil Nadu to become the 5th outright Tamil film this year. After Valimai, Beast, Vikram, and ET.
Dhanush’s Thiruchitrambalam has already run out of its fuel at the box office, now the stage is clear for the Silambarasan film, however, it remains to be seen whether it succeeds to cash in on the opportunity. For that, we will have to wait for the movie to arrive at the cinemas.
Certified with ‘U/A’ by the censor board
Makers on Monday informed via social media platform that their film has been passed with UA certificate by the CBFC board, along with this they made the announcement of the advance bookings commencement. Duration: 2hr 53mins or 173minutes.
