Suriya’s 2D entertainment’s much-hyped upcoming film “Viruman” is gearing for its release in cinemas soon, it stars Kaithi fame Karthi in the main lead role. The film revolves around the rivalry between the father (portrayed by Prakash Raj) and the son (portrayed by Karthi).
It is directed and written by M. Muthaiah, it marks his seventh directorial venture. Produced by husband and wife Suriya-Jyothika under their banner 2D entertainment.

Trailer Review
The trailer of the film promises to be a wholesome family entertainer where Karthi is seen playing a villager role who is locking horns with his father Prakash Raj who is also the Tahsildar of the village. The trailer was well received by the viewers and we can say that it created much anticipation for the release among the audience, they praised the cinematography, exhilarating stunt episodes, worthy comedy sequences, beautiful songs, and Karthi who aced the villager avatar in the 2:32 min trailer.
Screen Counts and Budget
The film is expected to be screened in around 400-500 theatres in the home state (Tamil Nadu), recently trade analyst and box office tracker Sreedhar Pillari echoed the same, he informed via a tweet sharing that Viruman would be the biggest and widest release for the actor Karthi in Tamil Nadu for Independence weekend. It is said to be made on a budget of Rs 30-35 crores.

Box Office Collection
There is much anticipation among Tamil movie lovers for the Karthi starrer and given that it will have a wide release, it is expected that the film could take a flying start at the box office. And becoming the top openers in the actor’s career. Suthan (2021) is said to be Karthi’s top opener (solo release) which had grossed upwards of Rs 5 Cr in TN on Day 1. So, Viruman needs to collect around Rs 5.5-6 Cr gross from the home state on the first day to emerge as the top opening day grosser in the actor’s career.
About the Film
It will mark the second collab of Karthi and the director M. Muthaiaah after Komban (2015), and the mass entertainer will also mark the debut of the director Shankar’s daughter Aditi Shankar.
