ICT Mumbai: The Institute of Chemical Technology, or ICT, was established in 1933 and is now functioning as the only state-funded deemed university in Mumbai. Earlier, it was a University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT) of the University of Bombay (now Mumbai), which worked on becoming an autonomous body and was named the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) in 2008.

There are 11 departments and 4 centres in The Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai offering courses at the UG, PG, and Ph.D. levels. The courses are recognised by the NBA, AICTE, UGC, and MHRD. ICT has been accredited with an A++’ grade by NAAC.

The university is best known for its engineering courses, B.Chem and B.Tech. Admissions are based on national and state-level entrance exams. NIRF has ranked the university 5th in Pharmacy and 24th at the university level in 2023.

The Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai offers admission to 9 UG programmes in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, and Pharmacy, 18 PG programmes, including 9 inter-disciplinary programmes, and 29 Ph.D. programmes. ICT Mumbai Infrastructure

The Institute of Chemical Technology, has two more campuses in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and Jalan, Maharashtra. The main campus is located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and covers an area of 16 acres. The university is at a walking distance from the Matunga Railway Station (E) and Wadala Railway Station, respectively. The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminal (CST) are also very near the ICT Mumbai campus.

ICT Mumbai Placement

The Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai has yet to release its placement report for 2023. According to the NIRF report for 2023, information for the median package for Engineering and Pharmacy is only available. The total number of students who graduated was 209, out of which 107 were placed, and the median package recorded was INR 8 LPA.
