IIT Hyderabad: The Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, was established in 2008 as the second generation of IITs by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. IITH was initiated with technical and financial assistance from the Government of Japan. The institute is best known for its research and innovation in the academic area. As per the NIRF 2023, it was ranked 8th in engineering and 14th in the overall category.

It consists of 17 departments offering more than 30 courses at the UG, PG, and Ph.D. levels in disciplines such as engineering, science, design, and liberal arts. IITH is accredited with an “A’ grade by NAAC, and all its courses are approved by AICTE.

IITs are known for their engineering courses; hence, the flagship course of IITH is B.Tech. Admission to this course is done through a national-level entrance test. The highest package in IITH for the year 2023 was recorded at INR 65.46 LPA.

IITH admits students for B.Tech. and B.Des. at the undergraduate level and for M.Tech., M.Sc., MA, and M.Des. at the postgraduate level. Apart from regular courses the institute also offers courses such as M.Tech. and M.Des. in online mode. Admission to these courses is based on a national-level exam. Direct entry into PG courses under certain criteria is available.

Entrance Exam 

Admission to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes is based on different processes. A student needs to qualify for a national-level exam for admission to some courses. IITH conducts an entrance exam for admission into M.A. courses. Candidates can review the entrance exam accepted by the institute.

Cut-off

The cutoff for B.Tech courses in IITH is announced by JoSAA. The students should hold an All India Rank (AIR) in JEE Advanced. IITH releases the cutoff for all other courses, including MA. The cutoff is determined on the basis of the number of students appearing for the exam, the number of seats, the difficulty level of the exam, etc.

Candidates are also required to possess a minimum percentage or mark in the preceding examination. The cut-offs for 2022 and 2023 are provided below:

IITH is among India’s top 10 engineering institutes and is rewarded as the Institute of National Importance. In the NIRF 2023 ranking the IITH is placed 8th in engineering, 3rd in innovation, and 14th in the overall category. According to the QS World University Rankings 2023 list, the institute is ranked 581–590 in the world and 219 in Asia.

It is also ranked among the top 7 institutes as per the ARIIA 2021 released by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell. The institute is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is accredited by NAAC.

IITH’s new campus was built in 2015 and is located in Kandi, Sangareddy district, Telangana. The campus covers an area of 576 acres, with three academic blocks and lush green surroundings. The institute is easily accessible as it is at a distance of 3.7 km from Kandi Bus Stop, 23.4 km from Shankarpalli Railway Station, and 47 km from Begumpet Airport.

How to Apply for IIT Hyderabad 2023 ?

IITH grants admission to B.Tech courses on the basis of JEE Advanced and JOSAA counselling. Candidates should refer below to understand the process of admission to IITH through JOSAA:

• The first step is to register and qualify the JEE Mains examination with the rank or marks required for JEE Advanced.
• If you are eligible, fill out the application form for JEE Advanced by logging in using your JEE Mains application number and password.
• IITH will only consider the rank or marks of JEE Advanced; therefore, you have to achieve the All India Rank (AIR) in the exam.
• The next round is JOSAA counselling for seat allotment in the IITs according to rank.
• You are required to enter your JEE Main application number and Main/Advanced password for JOSAA registration.
• Check all the details, update your password, and fill in IIT Hyderabad as your preferred college.
• Participate in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling session. 
• If you make it to the list for IITH, you will be admitted to the course of your choice.
• You will then be allotted a seat after the completion of document verification and the payment of the admission fee.

IIT Hyderabad Scholarship 2023

The institute provides scholarship plans as an aid for worthy students. The scholarship is granted to students who meet the criteria set by the institute. The scholarships are broadly divided into two parts:

IIT Hyderabad Placement

According to the Placement Brochure 2022-23 published by the institute out of 781 students 666 registered for the placement drive. A total of 586 offers were received out of which 46 were international offers made by 141 companies.

The highest package offered is INR 65.46 LPA and the average package stood at INR 20.46 LPA. Accenture Alphonso Amazon, and DG Google, Inc. Infurnia Japan, Microsoft, NTT-AT, Rakuten, Takano, TSMC, and Yokogawa were some of the top-paying companies.
