IIT Palakkad: Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad or IIT Palakkad or IIT PKD is a 3rd generation IIT in Kanjikode, Palakkad district, Kerala. It is an autonomous public engineering university established in 2015. IIT PKD has AICTE approval and it is recognized as INI by the government of India.

The institute provides technical knowledge in undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and research courses through 11 academic departments. NIRF has ranked the university 69th for engineering in 2023.

Entrance Exam 

IIT Palakkad accepts national, state or university-level entrance exams, followed by counselling for B.Tech., M.Tech., and M.Sc. The courses and entrance exams to clear for IIT Palakkad are as follows:

Cut-off 

JoSAA declares the cutoff for B.Tech courses in different rounds. These cutoffs are the opening and closing ranks according to which admission to 5 specializations in B.Tech. The CCMN and COAP are the authorities that will declare the cutoff list for M.Sc and M.Tech. These lists depend on the score of the student, the number of seats available for the specific course, etc.

IIT Palakkad Infrastructure

The Nila and the Ahalia campus are the two IITPKD campuses located at a distance of 13km from each other. The Main or permanent campus is a 504-acre land under construction and is within 35 Km distance from well-developed cities Palakkad and Coimbatore. The Nila campus is a part of the main campus and Ahalia is the temporary campus. The Nila and Ahalia campuses are 60 km and 5o km from Coimbatore international airport. The Pallakad railway station is at a distance of 25 km from the Ahalia campus and around 14 km from the Nila campus.

The two campuses have infrastructural and basic amenities for students and faculty members. The amenities include auditoriums, small and large classrooms enabled with multimedia, science laboratories, a library, a canteen, and Wi-Fi-enabled hostels. How to Apply for IIT Palakkad 2023 

JoSAA releases the opening and closing rank for admission to B.Tech. courses at IITs. Seat allotment is based on JEE Advanced ranks, and a student has to register and qualify for JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. The steps to apply for the B.Tech course of your choice at IIT Palakkad are as follows:

• Register for JEE Mains through the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in, and qualify for the JEE Advance.
• The next step is to register and appear for the JEE Advanced.
• Qualify for the JEE Advance with an AIR for your choice admission in the IIT.
• After clearing JEE Advanced register for JOSAA counseling.
• You have to use your JEE Mains application number and password for registration.
• Fill in details if required, upload the necessary documents, and submit.
• On the next page, you are to fill in the names of colleges of your choice and the preferred specialization from the given list.
• JoSAA will declare cutoffs and will allot seats if you meet the required cutoff.
• You can freeze your seat in the college by paying the admission fees.

A student has to make a non-refundable and compulsory payment for registration in JEE Mains and Advance. This application fee is payable online through credit card, debit card, net banking, Paytm, or UPI.

IIT Palakkad Scholarship 2023  

The institute offers its students various scholarship programs including national, state, and other scholarships. The scholarships are subject to the achievements of students or fulfillment of criteria. The campus placement drive of 2022-23 recorded participation of 158 companies leading to 206 offers. From 211 registered students 190 students received placements including 38 PPOs. The highest package stood at INR 46.15 LPA, the average CTC at INR 13.95 LPA, and the lowest salary at INR 6 LPA. ICICI Bank made a maximum of 20 offers this year. 52.6% and 32.2% of students got placement in the IT and Core sectors, respectively.
