IIT Patna formally known as the Indian Institute of Technology, Patna, was established in 2008. It is one of the eight new IITs established by the MHRD, Government of India. IITP is an Institute of National Importance (INL). As per the NIRF Ranking of 2023, the institute is ranked 41 under the engineering category.

The institute, through its 10 departments, provided UG, PG, and PhD courses. IITP has received accreditation from NAAC and is approved by AICTE and UGC. The popular courses offered by the institute are BS, BTech, MTech, and MSc.

Cut-off

How to apply for IIT Patna?

The selection of candidates is based on the score of the JEE, which is followed by the JOSAA for B.Tech. courses. Candidates have to fill out the application for JEE in order to be admitted. The steps to apply for a B.Tech. at IIT Patna are provided below:

• After scoring a valid rank in JEE Advance, apply for JOSAA counselling.
• Register yourself in the JOSAA portal using your JEE application number and password.
• Go through the entered details, check JEE Main registration, and update your password.
• Enter the college choice as IIT Patna along with the course or branch.
• The JOSAA will release the opening and closing ranks for different IITs.
• Those who meet the required score for IITP will be called for document verification.
