IIT Tirupati: The Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati, or IIT Tirupati, or IIT-TP, is one of the new-age IITs and an Institute of National Importance. It is an autonomous body set up in 2015 in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. NIRF has ranked the institute 59th for engineering in 2023.

The institute provides technical and engineering knowledge through nine academic departments that provide courses at the UG, PG, and Ph.D. levels. IITTP has received AICTE approval for its courses.

The institute offers B.Tech. at the UG level and M.Tech. at the PG level as its flagship courses. IITTP admits students through the institute or national-level entrance exams. The highest package offered in the placement of 2023 is INR 46 LPA.

Entrance Exam 

IIT Tirupati admits students to all courses on the basis of different entrance exams at the national or state level. For B.Tech., the college accepts IIT JEE, consisting of two papers, JEE Mains and JEE Advanced, and JoSAA counselling. Here are the names of the entrance exams to qualify for admission to IIT:

• B.E./B.Tech – JEE Mains + JEE Advanced + JOSAA Counseling/AP EAMCET.
• M.E./M.Tech – GATE + CCMT Counseling/AP PGECET
• M.Sc – IIT-JAM + CCMN Counseling/GATE/AP PGECET
• M.P.P. – GATE/ Written Test + Interview
• Ph.D. – GATE/UGC NET/CSIR NET/JEST/Online admission test + interview

Cut-off 

JoSAA announces the opening and closing ranks in different rounds for B.Tech courses through the JEE Advanced score. CCMT and CCMN declares the cutoffs for M.Tech. and M.Sc. courses, respectively. To be able to get into the IIT of their choice, a candidate needs to secure an All India Rank (AIR).

IIT Tirupati Ranking & Accreditation

The institute is one of the first third-generation IITs and has IIT Madras as its mentor institute. It aims to be one of the chief centers of higher education in accordance with global views and local applicability. IIT Tirupati is the fastest-growing IIT out of the 3G IITs and enjoys INI status. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) has ranked IIT TP 59th in its flagship course in engineering in 2023. How to Apply for IIT Tirupati 2023 

JoSAA declares the results and ranks for admission to B.Tech. courses at IITs on the basis of JEE Advanced. Here are the steps to apply for the flagship B.Tech course of your choice at IIT Tirupati:

• The first step is to register for IIT JEE Mains through the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.
• Qualify for JEE Mains and JEE Advanced at IIT Tirupati.
• Now you need to register for JOSAA counseling and fill in your choice.
• You can register using your JEE Mains application number and password.
• Fill in the incomplete details and upload all the requested documents.
• Submit the form now by filling in the IIT of your choice along with the preferred specialization from the given list.
• If you meet the cutoff in any round of seat allotment, you will have to pay the fee to freeze your choice.
• The last step is document verification for seat allotment.
• Now you are to reach the institute on the date specified and pay the rest of the fee.

Application Fees

A student has to pay a non-refundable amount online for registration in JEE Mains and Advance through the following options: credit card, debit card, net banking, Paytm, or UPI.

IIT Tirupati Scholarship 2023  

The institute provides financial aid in the form of scholarships to meritorious students from economically weaker sections. These scholarships are a fee waiver, concession, or pocket allowance to help students with their studies without worry. The list of scholarships granted by IIT Tirupati is as follows:

• Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: To 25% of students whose parents’ annual income is INR 4.50 lakh or less. Scholarship of INR 1,000 per month plus exemption of tuition fee per semester
• Institute Free Studentship: To 10% of students whose parents’ annual income is INR 4.50 lakh or less. There is no payment of tuition fees by the student.
• Institute SC/ST Scholarship: To students whose parents’ annual income is INR 4.50 lakh or less. Concession on Mess charges of INR 8,000/-, exemption of hostel seat rent, and pocket allowance of INR 250/- per month.
• Central, state, PSU, and other scholarships under the National Scholarship Portal

IIT Tirupati Placement    

The placement report for the year 2023 is not yet available. As of now, IIT Tirupati has recorded a placement rate of 61.70% for the B.Tech batch, and the highest package offered to the students of the Computer Science and Engineering branch stood at INR 46 LPA. The average and median packages for the Computer Science and Engineering branch are INR 25.25 LPA and INR 20.32 LPA, respectively.

The campus placement rate in 2022 stood at 90%. The highest package recorded was INR 69.45 LPA, and the average package was INR 15.54 LPA. A total 140 recruiters participated, providing 211 placement offers. 180 successful placements in prominent companies like Microsoft, Amazon, TCS, Salesforce, HCL, Cognizant, Synopsys, TATA Elxsi, Paytm, ICICI Bank, Thermax, IBM, NVidia, Goldman Sachs, Versa Networks, etc.
