Directed by Bollywood’s ace director Rohit Shetty, Cirkus is an upcoming Hindi comedy film, officially adopted from the 1982 Hindi film Angoor which itself was based on Shakespeare’s play “The Comedy of Errors” directed by veteran lyricist and filmmaker Gulzar. It starred Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma in lead roles.
Circus is jointly bankrolled by Rohit Shetty’s Rohit Shetty Picturez and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series in association with Reliance Entertainment. Talking about technical work, Jomon T. John is taking care of cinematography and Bunty Nagi is handling editing. The music and background score of the film is composed by Devi Sri Prasad a.k.a DSP, popularly known for his work in the Telugu film industry.
Cirkus Star Cast
Set in the 1960s, the film stars Bollywood’s power-star Ranveer Singh in the lead role, he is going to play the double role. The actor is collaborating for the second time with director Rohit Shetty after their super successful cop drama film Simmba which was released in December 2018. The actor-director duo is all set to recreate the magic once again after four years.
Along with Ranveer Singh, the film also stars Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Varun Sharma in crucial roles while actress Deepika Padukone and Ajay Devgn will be featured in special appearances. Other than these actors, the film also features Siddharth Jadhav, Johny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Vrajesh Hirjee, Vijay Patkar, and Sulbha Arya, Mukesh Tiwari, Brijendra Kala, Anil Charanjeett, Ashwini Kalsekar, Murali Sharma and Tiku Talsania.

Cirkus Release Date
Today, on May 10th, 2022, the makers of the film have made the announcement regarding the official release date of the film. Like other big-ticket movies which opt for festival release, this film will also have a Christmas release this year and December 23, 2022, has been finalized as the grand theatrical release date.
The film was originally scheduled to be released on December 31, 2021, but due to a delay in the shoot, it was postponed for a year. Along with the release date, the makers also dropped the first look poster of the film that features Ranveer Singh in double roles along with the rest of the star cast.

About the Film
The story of the film follows a circus operator and his gymnast friends belonging to a big circus company juggling their lives and trying to bring back the extinct circus culture to the public. Also, it will show two pairs of identical twins, who got separated at birth and meet later in life, leading to confusion and humor.
