Dance plus is an Indian dance reality show, which is hosted by Raghav Juyal. It was first premiered on the Star Plus channel on 3 July 2015. It is produced under the banner of Frames Productions and Urban Brew Studios and the producers of the show are Hemant Ruprell, Ranjeet Thakur, and Adelaide Joshua-Hill.
The famous dancer and choreographer turned Movie Director, Remo D’Souza is the super judge in the show. This is the battle among three captains’ teams, which they need to fight to get the title and prize money through their dance performance.
There are no restrictions in this competition in terms of dance style, contestants may perform solo or with a group. There should be a creative act whether your dance style is Bharatnatyam, hip hop, or breakdance, this is why Dance Plus is one of the most top-rated (IMDB rating is 7.7/10) dance shows of India.
1- V Company
Runner UP: Question Mark Crew from team Sumeet
Captain Dharmesh Yelande’s team V Company won the title of Dance Plus in season 1. V Company belongs to Vasai, Maharashtra, it is a group of 50 dancers and their dancing style is Hip Hop. Hardik Rawat solo performer was the second runner-up in the season, he was also from Team Dharmesh.
2- Tanay Malhara
Runner UP: Wild Ripperz Crew from team Dharmesh
It was started on 2nd July 2016, won by Tanay Malhara from Team Dharmesh. Wild Ripperz had made the record of gaining 8 Dance plus consecutively in the season. The third runner-up was Sushant Khatri from team Shakti. Captain Sumeet Nagdev was replaced in this season by Puneet Pathak.
3- Bir Radha Sherpa
Runner UP: Amardeep Singh Natt from Team Dharmesh
This season from Top four except the winner other three contestants were from the team Dharmesh. The contestants are Amardeep Singh Natt, Aryan Patra, Shivani, and Tarun, Runner-UP, Second Runner-UP, and Third Runner-UP respectively. It was the new record for finalists. It aired on 1 July 2017. Bir Radhe Sherpa from Team Punit Pathak won season 3.
4- Chetan Salunkhe
Runner UP: Sujaan and Aaanchel
Chetan Salunkhe from team Punit Pathak won season 4. It was aired on 6 Oct. 2018 on Star Plus. S-Unity Crew made a special appearance in the show and made it to the top-10, they first came to the show as an all-kids crew from team Raghav, further when they got into the top-10 they shifted to the team Dharmesh. Other contestants of Top-4 were Vartika Jha (Solo) and V Unbeatable (group).
5- Rupesh Bane
Runner UP: Janam from team Punit
The show was broadcasted on 9 Nov. 2019 and it was won by Rupesh Bane from Team Dharmesh. Sugandha Mishra joined the hosting along with Raghav Juyal this season 5. Karishma Chavan also made her entry this season as a captain. The other two finalists were Sanchita & Subroto, and Deepika & Rupesh they both were duo performers. With this season Dharmesh Yelande’s team won the dance plus title 3 times and the Punit Pathak team won 2 times.
6- Harsh, Sneha & Tejas
Runner UP: Dhananjay Joshi
Season 6 started on 13 September 2021 on streaming platform Disney+Hotstar. Trio Harsh, Sneha & Tejas won the show Kuldeep and Pranshu became 2nd runner-up, now premiering on Star Plus.
