Alia Bhatt is currently one of the busiest actresses in Bollywood, her two films RRR and Gangubai Kathiawadi already rocked at the box office, and has three more films that are waiting to hit the screens, one of them is the dark comedy film Darlings.
Darlings is made under the banner of Shah Rukh Khan’s production Red Chillies Entertainment. It was announced on 1 March 2021 through social media platforms. The shooting for the same commenced in July 2021 and in Sept the actress through her social media handles confirmed that the filming has been wrapped up.
As its announcement video suggests, the film is touted to be centered around girls, the 40 seconds announcement video has a note written that, ” Auraton Ka Apamaan Aapki Sehat Ke Liye Bahut Haanikarak Ho Sakta Hai.”
However, Alia Bhatt along with the acting also produced the film with SRK’s wifey Gauri khan and Gaurav Verma. Darlings also marked her debut production venture, all set for direct OTT release.

Darlings OTT Release Date & Trailer
The film was earlier slated to release theatrically but the makers later amended the plan and opted to release the film digitally. It was also being said that Netflix and Zee 5 are in the race to acquire the digital rights of the film.
Now it has been confirmed by Netflix, they recently launched an announcement video of the film, Darlings will premiere soon (5 Aug 2022) on the streaming platform. 2 minute 36 seconds trailer tells about a mysterious tale.

Star Cast of Darlings
It stars Alia Bhatt in the main lead role as Savitri, The digital star national film awardee Delhi crime fame Shefali Shah will be playing Nishigandha along with her Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew will also be seen in pivotal roles. It will mark the second Bollywood film of Roshan he made his debut in the industry in 2020 Netlfix film choked.

Darling is made under Shah Rukh Khan’s home production Red Chillies Entertainment in association with Eternal Sunshine Production. Anil Mehta is the cinematographer and the National film awardee legendry director, screenplay writer Vishal Bhardwaj has composed the music for the film, lyrics penned by Gulzar.
Alia’s Upcoming Projects
On the work front, the main lead actress Alia currently has Gangubai Kathiawadi and SS Rajamouli directorial RRR is waiting to hit the theatres.
The trailer of the former recently on 4 Nov was unveiled which is being well received by the movie-lovers and are amazed to watch the Alia in a never seen before role while the latter’s release date is again pushed back to March 2022 in the wake of the ongoing pandemic.
Other than that the actress has two more projects on the way Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra Part one: Shiva and Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Roani Ki Prem Kahani, in which she will be starring alongside Ranbeer Kapoor and Ranveer Singh respectively.
