Kangana is playing the role of the former prime minister Indira Gandhi, and in the teaser, we can see Kangana effortlessly donning the look of the late PM she can be seen wearing a starched cotton saree and to complete the look she is also wearing the same type of spectacles that Indira Gandhi used to wear.
To achieve this look Kangana pitched the Oscar-winning special effect makeup artist David Malinowski to transform her into Indira Gandhi. David Malinowski has worked on films like Darkest Hour for which he received the Oscar and he also did splendid work in World War Z and The Batman.
Kangana Ranaut as Director
After the success of Manikarnika, Kangana once again donned the director’s hat for Emergency. Kangana shared that she is pleased to wear the director’s hat once again. She also added that after working on Emergency for more than a year she finally figured no one could direct it better than her.
Emergency Teaser
In the teaser, we can see Kangana playing the role of former Prime Minister late Smt. Indira Gandhi. The secretary of Indira Gandhi gets a call from the former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, asking if American President Richard Nixon can address the PM Indira Gandhi as ‘Madam’ instead of the usual Sir.
When the secretary tells this to Indira, she takes a beat and says yes, but then she turns towards her secretary and asks him to tell the US President that everyone in her office refers to her as ‘Sir.’
